The Watcher

Photograph by Rosa Frei

The Watcher
Her eyes watch
They see the real you
The you, that stands apart
And watches
The antics of your body
You cannot hide
From she who knows...
She who sees

Glance quickly
Into a mirror
And you might catch
A glimpse
Of the real you
Watching
...You

This is my offering for

  3. First off, Rosa's photo looks amazing against the dark background of your site!

Your poem provokes an intense self-speculation. Fitting for the image, but it could also stand alone. Fine poem!

  7. Thank you dustus - I chose a dark ground for my blog specifically to show off images and photographs.
The idea of posting a stand-alone poem was tempting for a brief moment but Rosa's image was too powerful to resist.

  8. Hi Brian - thank you for your comments, I too am a people watcher and catching a glimpse of self in a reflection is often rather disconcerting.
